PHILADELPHIA, PA. – Continuing non-conference play the Queens College men's basketball team traveled to Philadelphia Saturday afternoon as they matched up against the Tigers of Holy Family University inside the Campus Center Gym.
Three Knights paced the offense led by a career-high 26 points from junior guard
Eric Tynes (Springfield, MA.), a double-double from junior guard
Jade Tse (Queens, N.Y.) with 14 points and 11 assists, and 10 points from senior guard
Shamar Chester (Queens, N.Y.) as the Knights earned a 70-64 victory over the Tigers.
With the win, the Knights earned their fifth victory of the year and earned their first road victory over the Tigers for the first time in program history.
GAME RECAP
The Knights opened the game scoring six of the first 10 points to take a 6-4 lead by the 17:10 mark before the Tigers went on a 7-0 run from the 16:41 mark to the 14:58 mark for an 11-6 advantage.
A three-pointer from Tse would break Queens' scoreless drought as the visitors answered with six straight points for a 12-11 advantage by the 13:54 mark before the Tigers took a slim lead of 13-12 at the 12:54 mark.
Both teams would scoreless over the next two and half minutes of play before the duo of Tynes and Tse put together a 9-0 run from the 10:34 mark to the 7:19 mark for a 21-15 lead.
However, in the next three minutes of play both sides would combine for 15 points but Queens would continue to keep their lead intact as they held a 28-23 advantage by the 4:02 mark.
But over the final 3:42 minutes of the first half, Tynes and Chester would take over as the duo combined for an 11-2 run as Queens held Holy Family to 0-of-4 from the field and forced two turnovers as the Knights took a 39-25 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.
In the first half the duo of Tse and Tynes combined for 25 of the 39 points with Tynes recording four made three-pointers as Queens shot 46.4 from the field and held Holy Family to 34.6% from the field with seven turnovers.
To open the second half the Tigers went on a 12-3 run from the 19:38 mark to the 13:07 mark to cut a 14-point Knights lead down to five points, 42-37.
Chester would convert a four-point play as the senior recorded Queens first made field goal since the 18:01 mark to start a 10-2 run with Tynes recording back-to-back three-pointers as the Knights extended their lead back to 13 points 52-39 with 11:02 left in the game.
But the Tigers would not go away without a fight as they responded with a 15-7 run to cut the Knights' 13-point advantage down to five points, 59-54 by the 5:32 mark.
Looking to head into the winter break on a winning note, senior guard
Jayden Seraphin (Lakeview, N.Y.) would start an 11-2 run from the 4:16 mark to the 1:20 mark as the Lakeview native recorded five points in the run as Queens extended their lead back to double-digits and seal the first-ever road victory inside the Campus Center Gym Saturday afternoon.

- Tynes paced the offense recording a career-high 26 points with seven made three-pointers.
- The seven made three-pointers are the most in a single game since Sunnie Diamond tallied seven against Mercy University on February 25, 2023.
- Tse recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 assists to go with two rebounds and one steal.
- Chester recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
- Seraphin and senior center Omar Nkonde (Harlem, N.Y.) combined for 14 points, eight rebounds, and one block in the victory.
- Queens turned 15 Holy Family turnovers into 16 points in the victory.

Following a two-week break, the Knights return to action on Tuesday, January 7 as they welcome the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport in their final non-conference game of the year. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
