FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's basketball team opened the new year with a non-conference victory over Georgian Court on Saturday (Jan. 6) afternoon. The Knights now prepare for an East Coast Conference match-up on Wednesday (Jan. 10) evening against Molloy University before concluding the week at home in non-conference play on Saturday (Jan. 13) afternoon against Goldey-Beacom College.
Queens College Knights Preview
- The Knights ended a three-game losing skid with a victory over Georgian Court to improve to 7-7 on the year.
- Senior guard Sunnie Diamond (Atlanta, GA) leads the offense averaging 17.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
- Diamond recorded his second double-double of the year with a season-high 33 points, and 11 rebounds to go with five assists in the victory over Daemen Sunday (Dec. 10) afternoon.
- Against Cheyney (Nov. 15) Diamond recorded his first double-double of the year with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
- On Monday (Jan. 2) Diamond earned his third East Coast Conference Honor Roll spot of the year.
- Senior forward Malik Bentinck (Queens, N.Y.) is averaging 12.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game with six double-doubles on the year.
- In the victory over Caldwell (Dec. 5) Bentinck recorded a career-high 17 points and 15 rebounds.
- On Tuesday (Dec.12) the senior earned MBWA Honorable Mention for his first regional honors of the year.
- On Monday (Jan. 8) Bentinck earned his third Honor Roll spot on the year and earned one Defensive Player of the Week nod.

- The Knights are looking to end a three-game losing streak with the last win coming during the 21-22 season when Queens won in OT in Flushing to the final score of 78-68.
- Rob Matos leads the team averaging 19.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
- Billy Reyes is averaging 9.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

- GBC enters the week with an overall record of 9-5 and are riding a four-game win streak. The Lightning will match up against East Stroudsburg on Wednesday before traveling to Flushing on Saturday afternoon.
- Saturday's meeting will be just the second overall meeting against the regional foe and the first since the 2014-2015 season when the Knights fell 83-77 on November 14, 2014.
- Ayshion Centeno leads the team averaging 15.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
- Zayon Marsh is averaging 15.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
