FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team wrapped up non-conference play before the new year with a victory over Hartford and returns to East Coast Conference play as the second half of the season gets underway. The Knights return to action beginning with the Lions of Molloy University on Wednesday (Jan. 10) evening in Rockville Centre.
Queens College Knights Preview
- The Knights ended non-conference play on a positive note with a 68-55 victory over Hartford.
- Sophomore guard Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) leads the offense averaging 13.6 points, and 5.6 rebounds to go with 2.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game with one double-double on the year.
- Davis recorded a career-high 30 points to go with nine rebounds and five steals in the victory over Bloomfield.
- On Monday (Nov. 20) Davis was awarded ECC Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors for performance.
- On Monday (Dec. 18) Davis earned her second Weekly Award Honors as the sophomore found a spot on the Honor Roll sheet.
- Rookie forward Nkiru Awaka (Hyde Park, N.Y.) is averaging 12.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.
- Awaka has tallied five double-doubles on the year with a career-best 29 points (vs. Wilmington), 14 rebounds (vs. Caldwell), three blocks (vs. Caldwell), & four steals (vs. Felician)
- On Tuesday (Jan. 2) afternoon Awaka would earn her sixth ECC Rookie of the Week honors.
- Rookie guard Jalea Abrams (Elmira, N.Y.) is averaging 10.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
- Abrams tallied a career-high 20 points against UDC on November 29.
- On Monday (Dec. 11) afternoon Abrams earned her first weekly awards honors as she was named Rookie of the Week.

- Molloy enters the week with an overall of 4-8 and 1-3 in ECC play and are coming off a non-conference victory over Adelphi on Dec. 30.
- Wednesday's meeting will be the first of two meetings this season and the 48th overall with the Knights trailing the series 22-25.
- Trinity Hudson leads the offense averaging 12.9 points, 11.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.
- Samantha Muller is averaging 10.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

The Knights are off until January 19
th when they welcome the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University to Flushing.
