Malik Bentinck's (Queens, N.Y.) sixth double-double of the year, while three other Knights scored in double figures as the Queens College men's basketball team earned an 83-68 non-conference victory over the Lions of Georgian Court University inside Wellness Center Arena in Lakewood, N.J. Saturday afternoon.
Bentinck led the way with his sixth double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while junior
Shamar Chester (Queens, N.Y.) and junior
Manny Umoffia (Benin City, Nigeria) scored 15 points each and sophomore
Eric Tynes (Springfield, MA.) knocked in 12 points as the Knights ended a three-game losing streak to return to the wins column.
With the win, Queens improved their record to 7-7 overall and earned their first win in Lakewood in three games.

The Lions opened the game with a 7-0 run before
Sunnie Diamond (Atlanta, GA) got the Knights on board with a three-pointer at the 17:57 mark.
Both sides would trade baskets over the next several minutes, but with the Lions leading 15-9 with 13:58 left in the first half, Queens would respond with a 16-0 run from the 13:41 mark to the 8:17 mark to take a 25-15 lead.
But the Lions answered back with an 11-0 run to take a 26-25 before Chester's step-back jumper stopped the scoring drought for Queens at the 5:11 mark.
Each side continued to answer each other bucket for bucket, but with the Knights trailing by three, 30-27 with 4:26 left until halftime, Queens would end the half on a 12-4 run as they took a 39-34 lead into the locker room as they forced five Lions turnovers.
Behind junior
Jayden Seraphin (Lakeview, N.Y.) and Chester, Queens opened the scoring as the Knights extended their lead to seven points, 43-36 before the Lions went on a 5-0 run to cut the Knights' advantage down to two, 43-41 with 16:01 left in the game.
A jumper from Bentinck would stop the scoring drought for Queens before both sides traded buckets.
But with the Knights leading by two, 49-47 with 12:49 to go in the game, Queens went on a 12-0 run from the 12:12 mark to the 8:39 mark with Umoffia and Tynes combining for nine points to take a 61-47 lead.
Having taken a 14-point lead, Queens would continue to keep their lead in double figures with consistent scoring as the Knights ended a three-game losing streak to open the new year on a positive note with an 83-68 victory.

- Bentinck led the way with his sixth double-double of the year with 15 points (6-of-9 FG, 1-of-1 3PT, 2-of-4 FT), game-high 13 rebounds, one block, and two steals.

- It was a near double-double from Diamond who recorded nine points, a team-high eight assists to go with one block and two steals.
- As a team, the Knights shot 46.4% going 26-of-56 from the field, while the Lions shot 48.2% on 27-of-56 shooting.

- Queens held a 41-25 rebounds margin with an 11-6 advantage on second chance points.
