FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's basketball team returns to action in non-conference play as a two-game road trip opens in Lakewood, N.J. on Saturday (Jan. 6) afternoon against the Lions of Georgian Court University.
Queens College Knights Preview
- The Knights are on a three-game losing streak with the last loss coming against St. Michael's College in Flushing on Saturday (Dec. 30) afternoon.
- Senior guard Sunnie Diamond (Atlanta, GA) leads the offense averaging 18.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
- Diamond recorded his second double-double of the year with a season-high 33 points, and 11 rebounds to go with five assists in the victory over Daemen Sunday afternoon.
- Against Cheyney (Nov. 15) Diamond recorded his first double-double of the year with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
- On Monday (Jan. 2) Diamond earned his third East Coast Conference Honor Roll spot of the year.
- Senior forward Malik Bentinck (Queens, N.Y.) is averaging 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game with five double-doubles on the year.
- In the victory over Caldwell (Dec. 5) Bentinck recorded a career-high 17 points and 15 rebounds.
- On Tuesday (Dec.12) the senior earned MBWA Honorable Mention for his first regional honors of the year.
- On Monday (Dec. 11) Bentinck earned his first ECC Defensive Player of the Week nod to go with two Honor Roll spots.
