FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team is coming off a 0-2 trip to Buffalo and will look to bounce as a three-game homestand begins on Wednesday (Jan. 31) evening.
The Knights host the Mavericks of Mercy University on Wednesday before hosting the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday (Feb. 3) afternoon.
Queens College Knights Preview
- The Knights will look to bounce back following a two-game skid in Buffalo over the weekend.
- Sophomore guard Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) leads the offense averaging 14.4 points, and 5.4 rebounds to go with 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game with one double-double on the year.
- Davis recorded a career-high 30 points to go with nine rebounds and five steals in the victory over Bloomfield.
- On Monday (Jan. 22) Davis was awarded her second ECC Honor Roll spot following a game-high 26 points in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan.
- The sophomore has earned ECC Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors (Nov. 20) and one Honor Roll spot on Dec. 18.
- Rookie forward Nkiru Awaka (Hyde Park, N.Y.) is averaging 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.
- Awaka has tallied six double-doubles on the year with a career-best 29 points (vs. Wilmington), 14 rebounds (vs. Caldwell), three blocks (vs. Caldwell), & four steals (vs. Felician)
- On Monday (Jan. 29) afternoon Awaka would earn her eighth ECC Rookie of the Week honors.

- On Tuesday (Dec. 19) Awaka was named to the MBWA Honorable Mention list
- Rookie guard Jalea Abrams (Elmira, N.Y.) is averaging 11.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
- Abrams tallied a career-high 21 points in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan (Jan. 19) Friday evening.
- On Monday (Dec. 11) afternoon Abrams earned her first weekly awards honors as she was named Rookie of the Week.

- Sarah Ericson leads the offense averaging 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
- Erin Leary is averaging 12.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game.
