FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team is coming off their first East Coast Conference victory of the year as they defeated Roberts Wesleyan University at home on Friday evening.
The Knights open a two-game road trip to Buffalo, N.Y. to complete the two-game series against the Saints of D'Youville University on Friday (Jan. 26) evening before wrapping up the trip against the Wildcats of Daemen University on Sunday (Jan. 28) afternoon.
Queens College Knights Preview
- The Knights are coming off a victory over Roberts Wesleyan and will be looking to extend that streak over the weekend against the Saints and Wildcats.
- Sophomore guard Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) leads the offense averaging 13.9 points, and 5.3 rebounds to go with 2.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game with one double-double on the year.
- Davis recorded a career-high 30 points to go with nine rebounds and five steals in the victory over Bloomfield.
- On Monday (Jan. 22) Davis was awarded her second ECC Honor Roll spot following a game-high 26 points in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan.
- The sophomore has earned ECC Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors (Nov. 20) and one Honor Roll spot on Dec. 18.
- Rookie forward Nkiru Awaka (Hyde Park, N.Y.) is averaging 12.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.
- Awaka has tallied five double-doubles on the year with a career-best 29 points (vs. Wilmington), 14 rebounds (vs. Caldwell), three blocks (vs. Caldwell), & four steals (vs. Felician)
- On Monday (Jan. 22) afternoon Awaka would earn her seventh ECC Rookie of the Week honors.

- Abrams tallied a career-high 21 points in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan (Jan. 19) Friday evening.
- On Monday (Dec. 11) afternoon Abrams earned her first weekly awards honors as she was named Rookie of the Week.
