NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Tuesday (Feb. 14) morning, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association announced week nine of the weekly awards and Queens College women's basketball freshman guard
Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y) earned a Honorable Mention spot for the second time in three weeks.
For the second time in three weeks, Davis follows her Feb. 13 East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors with a MBWA Honorable Mention.
Davis joins fellow guard and sophomore
Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to have earned multiple honors from the MBWA this season.
In the Knights' 1-1 week, Davis averaged 17.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks as the rookie recorded 35 points, 20 rebounds, and five blocks.
Davis began the week notching her fourth double-double with a game-and-team high 19 points, and 10 rebounds with three blocks against CSI on Wednesday evening. The Bronx native concluded the week with a game-and-team-high 16 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks as she recorded the fifth double-double of her career in the victory over UDC Saturday afternoon.
In 12 conference games with 11 starts, Davis is averaging 12.9 points and 8.5 rebounds on 42.9% shooting with five double-doubles.
