FLUSHING, N.Y. – East Coast Conference play opened last week as the Queens College women's basketball team matched up against the District of Columbia and College of Staten Island.
 
ECC play continues as the Knights welcome the Saints of D'Youville University on Friday (Dec. 8) evening before hosting defending champions Wildcats of Daemen University on Sunday (Dec. 10) afternoon.

Queens College Knights Preview

• The Knights are coming off of a 0-2 week as they fell to UDC at home and CSI on the road.
• Sophomore guard Brianna Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) leads the offense averaging 15.1 points, and 5.9 rebounds to go with 2.4 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
  • Davis recorded a career-high 30 points to go with nine rebounds and five steals in the victory over Bloomfield.
  • On Monday (Nov. 20) Davis was awarded ECC Player and Defensive Player of the Week honors for performance.
• Rookie forward Nkiru Awaka (Hyde Park, N.Y.) is averaging 11.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.
  • Awaka has tallied three double-doubles on the year with a career-best 23 points (vs. Post), 14 rebounds (vs. Caldwell), three blocks (vs. Caldwell), & four steals (vs. Felician)
  • On Monday (Dec. 4) afternoon Awaka would earn her fourth straight ECC Rookie of the Week honors.

D'Youville University Saints Preview

• D'Youville enters the week with an overall record of 2-5 and 1-0 in ECC play. The Saints are on a two-game losing streak.
• It will be the fifth overall meeting and the first of two meetings this season with the series tied 2-2.
• Last season the Knights earned a series split with an OT victory at home.
• Anna Jankovis leads the offense averaging 12.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game.
• Stella Mollica is averaging 8.6 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game. 

Daemen University Wildcats Preview

Last Win: January 21, 2018 (Home 70-60)
Last Loss: January 29, 2023 (Home 52-74)

• Daemen enters the week with an overall record of 4-3 and 1-0 in ECC play. They will match up against Molloy on Friday evening before matching up against the Knights on Sunday afternoon.
• The overall series is tied 9-9 with the Knights searching for their first win over the Wildcats since the 2017-18 season.
• Sunday's meeting will be the first of two meetings this season.
• Alahna Paige leads the offense averaging 17.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
• While Gabby McDuffie is averaging 11.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.

Next Game

The homestand concludes on Wednesday (Dec. 13) evening as the Wildcats of Wilmington University visit Flushing for the first time since the 2007-08 season. Tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
