FLUSHING, N.Y. – The 2023-2024 men's basketball season gets underway on Friday (Nov. 10) evening as the Queens College men's basketball team opens the new season competing in the ECC/NE10 Conference Challenge hosted by East Coast Conference foe Molloy University Lions inside Quealy Gymnasium.
On Oct. 31 the ECC announced the 2023-2024 Men's Basketball Preseason Poll and the Knights have been projected to finish fifth in the poll and one of six teams to make the ECC Men's Basketball Postseason Tournament.
Four-time defending champions St. Thomas Aquinas College are slated to finish top of the league once again followed by Daemen University who have been slotted second.
It was a two-way tie for the third-place finish between District of Columbia and College of State Island.
The Knights follow at fifth with Molloy slated at the sixth and final spot to make the six-team ECC Men's Basketball Postseason Tournament.
Roberts Wesleyan University earned the seventh spot, D'Youville University at eighth and Mercy University rounded out the full poll at ninth.

Matt Collier and the Knights finished the year with an overall record of 8-20 and 5-11 in league play.
- Senior guard Sunnie Diamond (Atlanta, GA) earned ECC Third-Team All-Conference and will be looking to lead the way once again with higher goals in mind.
- The Knights are in search of their third ECC title in program history with the last title coming in the 2004-2005 season.
- For the past two seasons, Queens has opened the new year with a victory with both of them coming inside Fitzgerald Gymnasium.
- The last time Queens earned a neutral/road win to open the season came on November 11, 2016, when they defeated Assumption to the score of 93-87 in Worcester, MA.

- Queens is looking to end a three-game losing streak against the Setters as they look to earn their first win over their regional foe since the 2015-2016 season when they earned a 78-76 victory in Flushing.
