Gianna Henriques (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded her second double-double of the year as the Queens College women's basketball team matched up against the Cougars of Caldwell University inside the Newman Center Tuesday evening.
Game Recap
After a slow start to the first quarter, the Knights would attempt to rally in the second quarter as they cut a 19-2 deficit down to eight, 19-11 with a 9-0 run with 5:57 left until halftime.
However, the host would end the second quarter on an 8-4 run to take a 27-15 lead at halftime.
Queens began the scoring as they cut their deficit down to 10, 27-17 but it would be the closest the Knights would get on the evening before dropping their fourth non-conference game of the year.
By the Numbers
- Henriques recorded her second double-double of the year with a team-high 10 points and 11 rebounds to go with two blocks.
- Freshman Nkiru Awaka (Hyde Park, N.Y.) tallied eight points, a career-best 14 rebounds, and three blocks to go with one steal.
Next Game
The Knights continue the three-game road stand with a trip to Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday (Nov. 25) afternoon as they match up against the Golden Falcons of Felician University in the Felician Holiday Classic. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
