FLUSHING, N.Y. – It would be a scoring outpour in their home opener led by senior guard
Sunnie Diamond (Atlanta, GA) who recorded a team-high 23 points as the Queens College men's basketball team welcomed the Wolves of Cheyney University of Pennsylvania to Flushing for the first time.
On a night where 12 Knights registered at least two points, Queens would defeat Cheyney to the final score of 94-50 Wednesday evening as the Knights earned their second straight win of the year.

Diamond wasted no time getting on the board as Queens went on an 8-0 run to begin the first half. The Wolves would cut the Knights advantage down to three, 8-5 but it would be the closest margin the visitors would get on the night.
Leading 8-5, senior forward
Malik Bentinck (St. Albans, N.Y) would start a 13-5 run from 16:45 to 13:04 as the Knights extended their lead to 11, 21-10.
The visitors would attempt to cut into the advantage as they cut an 11-point lead down to seven, 23-16 with 9:50 left in the first half.
But consistent scoring would see Queens end the first half on a 24-12 run as they took a 19-point lead of 47-28 at halftime.
15-0 run to open the second half from 19:28 to 14:42 would the Knights run away with the game as they opened the home portion of their schedule on a positive note to the score of 94-50 Wednesday evening.

- Diamond led the Knights' offense as he recorded his first double-double of the year with a team-high 23 points (10-14 FG, 3-5 3PT) to go with 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals
- Bentinck recorded his first double-double of the year with 10 points (4-10 FG) to go with a season-high 12 rebounds.
- Sophomore forward Eric Tynes (Springfield, MA.) recorded a season-high 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-5 3PT), while the junior duo of Dante Griffin (Utica, N.Y.) and Omar Nkonde (Harlem, N.Y.) combined for 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
- As a team, the Knights shot a season-best 50.0% going 38-76 from the field, while the Wolves shot 31.1% shooting 19-61 from the field.
- Queens shot a season-best of 90.9% from the free throw line as they went 10-11.
