Tyler Carey (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was awarded Defensive Player of the Week honors for the third time this season.

For the third time and second consecutive week, the senior center has earned ECC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Carey averaged 11.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks as the senior recorded 22 points, 22 rebounds, and nine blocks on the week.
The Bay Shore tallied his seventh double-double of the year with 10 points, and 13 rebounds and matched a career-high six blocks in the Friday 80-65 victory over D'Youville. On Sunday afternoon against Daemen the senior recorded 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
On the season Carey is averaging 11.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks in 20 games, while in ECC play he is averaging 11.6 points and 12.2 rebounds with six double-doubles.
UP NEXT: Carey and the men's basketball team return to non-conference action on Thursday (Feb. 2) evening as they welcome the Chargers of Dominican University to town. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
