Volleyball Heads to New Haven for Saturday’s SCSU Tri-Match

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The eight-game road stand continues as the Queens College volleyball team heads to New Haven, Conn as they compete in the SCSU Tri-match Saturday (Sept. 10) against host Southern Connecticut State University Owls and Le Moyne College Dolphins.

Le Moyne Series History
  • Record: 4-3
  • Last Matchup: September 7, 2019 (L 0-3) Current Streak: L3
  • It will be the eighth meeting against the Dolphins in program history. 
  • The Knights are on a three-game losing streak against Le Moyne
  • The last win came in 2008 as the Knights picked up a 3-1 victory in New Haven, Conn.
Southern Connecticut State University Series History

  • It will be the 18th meeting between both since the 2004 season. 
  • Queens is winless against the Owls since the 2014 season having lost six straight games. 
  • On the road, the Knights are 4-7 against SCSU. 
Queens College
  • The Knights take a 2-6 overall record into the weekend having lost four straight.
  • Rookie Kendall Conrad (Carrolltown, PA) tallied 37 averaging 2.64 kills per set, nine digs, and seven blocks in four games last week. The rookie tallied back-to-back double-digits kills as she notched 12 kills against Saint Rose and a career-high 15 kills against Georgian Court. 
  • Rookie Lindsay Osterhoudt (Orlando, FL) was named to the GCU Invitational All-Tournament team as she tallied 17 kills and 13 blocks for 25.5 points. Against Saint Rose, the Orlando native notched a career-high eight kills and six blocks. 
  • On Tuesday (Sept. 6) Osterhoudt was named East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week. (Link)
  • On Monday (Aug. 29) freshman Ryann Frontera (Dripping Springs, TX) earned East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors for her performance in the Long Island Invitational hosted by the Knights. (Link)
  • On Monday (Aug. 29), senior Alexis Deodat (Tampa Bay, FL), and sophomore Christina Franco (Lynbrook, N.Y.) were awarded a spot on the ECC Weekly Honor Roll sheet for their performance from the opening four matches. (Link)
Le Moyne College
  • The Dolphins are 2-3 on the young season. 
  • They are coming off a five-set victory over D'Youville University Saints Tuesday evening.
  • Madeleine Kennedy leads the offense with 39 kills, 2.05 kills per set with 43 points. 
Southern Connecticut State University
  • The Owls are 6-4 to start the season. 
  • They are coming off a 3-0 victory over Dominican on Tuesday night. 
  • Gabriela Gaibur leads the offense with 127 kills averaging 3.63 kills per set with 142.5 points.  
UP NEXT: The road stand continues as the Knights travel to Pleasantville, N.Y. with a matchup against the Setters of Pace University on Tuesday (Sept. 13) evening. First Serve is set for 6:00 P.M.
