Women’s Soccer Opens Four-Game Homestand against Molloy

 FLUSHING, N.Y. – On Saturday (Oct. 1) evening, the Queens College women's soccer team opens a four-game homestand as they welcome the defending East Coast Conference champions Lions of Molloy University to Flushing at QC Soccer Field. 
 
Game time: 7:30 P.M.
 
Series History
  • Record: 9-12-1
  • Last Matchup: October 9, 2021 (L 1-2) Current Streak: L2
  • It will be the 23rd meeting between both sides with the Knights trailing the series 9-12-1.
  • The Knights will be looking to end a two-game losing streak to the Lions. 
  • The win came at home on Sept. 15 when Queens won 1-0.

Queens College
  • The Knights are 1-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play. 
  • Queens is coming off a 2-0 loss to Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester. 
  • Sophomore Julia Ragone (Centereach, N.Y.) and graduate student Synne Flem (Baerum, Norway), and junior Marina Pappas (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) have scored a goal apiece on the season. While Ragone leads the Knights with three points having tallied an assist on the season.
  • Pappas tallied her first career game-winner in the 1-0 victory over Daemen.
  • On Monday (Sept. 19), the East Coast Conference office awarded Pappas a spot on the Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll Sheet. (Link)
  • The Knights have been picked to finish fifth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll.
Molloy University
  • Molloy is 7-2-2 overall, 3-1 in conference play and they are coming off a 2-2 draw in non-conference play to Georgian Court. 
  • The Lions are led by Sienna Nicolich who has tallied 18 points for seven goals and four assists.
  • The Redhawks have been picked to finish second in the ECC Preseason Coaches poll.
UP NEXT: The homestand continues Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon as they welcome the Lions of Lincoln University (PA.) to Flushing. Kick-off is set for Noon.
