Cross Country Opens 2022 Season at Panthers XC Invite

BETHPAGE, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's cross country opened the 2022 season competing in the fifth annual Panthers XC Invite held at Bethpage State Park hosted by the Panthers of Adelphi University Friday afternoon.
 
On the men's side, the Knights finished 10th overall and sixth among Division II opponents. While the women's team finished 7th overall, and fifth against DII opponents.
 
Men's 8K Meet Highlights
  • Graduate student Njehan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned a top 10 finish as the Brooklyn native finished ninth with a time of 27.17.4.
  • Junior Myles Jackson (San Juan, Trinidad and Tobago) made his return to the course and finished with a time of 30:49.5 to earn a 57th finish.
Women's 5K Meet Highlights
  • Junior Alexis Hall (West River, MD) earned a top 20 finish as she completed the course in 22:19.8 for a 15th place finish. Hall bested her 2021 season finish of 22:55.1 on Friday.
  • Sophomore Natalia Cuttler (Islip, N.Y.) earned a 29th finish with a time of 23:16.6.
  • Freshman Destiny Morley (Grove City, PA) made her debut and earned a top 50 finish with a time of 25.12.6.
  • Nicole Colombi (Wantagh, N.Y.), Bianca Hiltz (Southwick, Mass), and Ashley Rodriguez Perez (Elmhurst, N.Y.) finished right behind each other as Colombi finished the race with a time of 26:26.9. While Hiltz completed the course in 26:53.0, and Perez with a time of 27.12.3.
UP NEXT: The Knights will now use the next three weeks to prepare for the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 25) hosted in Milton, N.Y. at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome.
