FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's basketball team continues their homestand as they conclude East Coast Conference series against the Mercy College Mavericks.
The Knights will be looking first sweep over the Mavericks since the 17-18 season and extend their win streak to three games over the Mavericks. In Flushing, Queens is 7-3 in their last 10 games against Mercy and fell 70-57 in their last home matchup against the Mavericks.

The Knights took the first meeting defeating the Mavericks by 27 points in Dobbs Ferry.
Scouting Queens College
Queens (8-6 overall, 6-4 ECC) is on a two-game win streak and moved to third place in the conference standings after their 2-0 week with victory over Staten Island and UDC.
As a team, Queens is averaging 70.6 points on 43.3 percent shooting, 43.1 rebounds, and 12.4 assists per game. In East Coast Conference play the Knights are ranked first in rebounds and second in blocks per game.
Sophomore
Dion Herrington (Englewood, N.J.) leads the offense in conference play averaging 12.7 points per game and is coming off a 22-point performance in the victory over UDC. Herrington earned his first ECC weekly accolade for his performances last week.
While freshman
Shamar Chester (Queens Village, N.Y.) broke out of his shooting slump as the rookie averaged 13.5 points per game in the Knights 2-0 week. Chester tallied 17 points on 7-of-10 FG with six rebounds to help the Knights defeat Staten Island Wednesday evening. The Queens Village native notched 10 points in the second half.
On Saturday afternoon, Chester tallied 10 points in the victory over District of Columbia to help Queens move to third place in the conference standings.
It earned Chester his second ECC Rookie of the week honors and third honor of the season.
Scouting Mercy College
Mercy College (2-17 overall, 2-10 ECC) is on a five-losing skid but has wins over Molloy College and UDC on the season.
As a team the Mavericks are averaging 63.3 points on 37.7 percent shooting, 35.4 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game.
James Taylor Jr. leads the offense averaging 15.2 points per game in conference play. He tallied a season-high 21 points against Bridgeport. While Brandon Wilson is the second leading scorer on the team averaging 14.5 points per game including a season-high 23 points against Bridgeport.
UP NEXT: The Knights return to the road as they match up against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday (Feb. 12) afternoon in Sparkill. Tip-off set for 3:00 p.m.
