FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's basketball team opens a two-game series against the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans in East Coast Conference action starting with a road trip to Sparkill, N.Y. Saturday afternoon.
The Knights will then host the Spartans on Superbowl Sunday, a makeup game from January 8 to conclude the series.
The weekend meeting will be the 43
rd and 44
th meeting between both sides with the series all even at 21-21 dating back to the first meeting on January 17, 2001. In Flushing, the Knights are 9-12, while they have found success on the road with a 12-9 series lead.
The Spartans hold a 9-1 advantage in their last 10 matches with Queens last victory coming on December 9, 2015, as the Knights took a 69-64 victory on the road.
At home, the Knights have been held winless over the last seven seasons as the win came on March 2, 2013, as Queens won 81-63.

Scouting Queens College
Queens (8-7 overall, 6-5 ECC) saw their two-game win streak come to an end on Wednesday evening as Mercy College took advantage of the Knights' sluggish start to the game.
As a team, Queens is averaging 69.3 points on 42.0 percent shooting, 43.4 rebounds, and 12.2 assists per game.
Sophomore
Dion Herrington (Englewood, N.J.) leads the offense in conference play averaging 12.0 points per game. The Englewood native was named to the ECC honor roll sheet for his performance last week.
Against Mercy sophomore
Malik Bentinck (Queens, N.Y.) led the Knights offense with a career night with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Scouting St. Thomas Aquinas College
STAC (18-4 overall, 11-1 ECC) is on a six-game winning streak and are second in the ECC standings.
As a team, the Spartans are averaging 87.0 points on 49.2 percent shooting, 37.7 rebounds, and 17.4 assists per game.
Demetre Roberts leads the offense averaging 16.5 points per game, while Osbel Caraballo is the second leading scorer averaging 16.4 points per game. In the last two games against Molloy Roberts averaged 30.0 points including a career-high 36 points on Monday before tallying 24 points Wednesday evening.
While Caraballo has tallied nine straight double-digit performances including 25 points in the victory over Roberts Wesleyan College.
