Men’s Basketball at College of Staten Island Game Day Preview

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's basketball team road trip continues with a trek to Staten Island as the Knights take on the Dolphins of College of Staten Island. 
 
The Knights wrap their East Coast Conference series against the Dolphins and will be looking to even the series as Queens fell 67-64 at home.

The Dolphins took the first victory between both programs in Flushing with a 67-64 victory. 
 
Scouting Queens College 
 
Queens (6-6 overall, 4-4 ECC) hit the road for their sixth straight road trip and take a 3-2 road record into Staten Island. 
 
As a team, Queens is averaging 70.5 points on 42.9 percent shooting, 44.0 rebounds (ranked #8 in the nation), and 12.4 assists per game. 
 
The offense is led by junior William Ellis (Valley Stream, N.Y.) averaging 11.5 points per game and has tallied nine double-digit performances on the season. Ellis tallied a career-high 25 points in the win over D'Youville. While sophomore Dion Herrington (Englewood, N.J.) is the second leading scorer averaging 10.8 points per game and is coming off a career-high 23 points against Molloy. 
 
Scouting College of Staten Island
 
Staten Island (5-12 overall, 4-6 ECC) is coming off a 1-1 week with their Western New York trip. 
 
As a team the Dolphins are averaging 66.6 points per game on 40.8 percent shooting while averaging 34.8 rebounds and 13.4 assists per game. 
 
The offense is led by Bryce Waterman averaging 13.5 points per game and has tallied 23 points or more on three different occasions. He tallied a season-high 30 points against Goldey-Beacom. While Messiah Mallory is averaging 13.4 points per game and has been named ECC Rookie of the Week six times this year. He tallied a career-high 32 in the victory over Mercy College.
 
UP NEXT:  Following six games on the road, the Knights return to Flushing Saturday afternoon as they host the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds. Tip-off set for 1:30 p.m.
