Dion Herrington (Englewood, N.Y.) and sophomore
Jayden Seraphin (Lakeview, N.Y.) combined for 18 points to lead the comeback as the Queens College men's basketball team cut their deficit down to one before missed opportunities hurt the Knights in their non-conference match up to the Golden Knights of The College of Saint Rose inside Fitzgerald Gymnasium.
For the second straight game, four separate Knights scored in double figures led by Herrington's team-high 14 points, while junior
Malik Bentinck (Queens, N.Y.) notched his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. For the third game in a row, Seraphin notched double figures with 13 points and sophomore
Tyron Wright (Camby, IN) tallied 11 points but Queens would fall short in their comeback attempt Friday evening to the final score of 79-75.

The Knights opened the game with three straight turnovers while the Golden Knights tallied eight quick points to take an 8-0 lead just 18:20 into the game before a made free throw by senior
Tyler Carey (Bay Shore, N.Y.) put Queens on the board at the 17:47 mark.
After another made jumper by the visitors gave them a 10-1 lead, a three-pointer by sophomore
Shamar Chester(Queens, N.Y.) would give Queens their first made field goal of the game at the 17:26 mark to bring them within 6, 10-4.
Trailing 12-4 at the 16:45 mark, Queens went on an 11-4 run with Seraphin notching five points from the 16:26 mark to the 14:06 mark as the Knights cut an eight-point deficit down to one, 16-15 with 14:06 left in the first half.
Queens continued to stay close as sophomore
Elijah Blackman (Queens, N.Y.) tallied five points to bring them within four, 28-24 with 8:49 remaining until halftime.
With Queens trailing by four, 28-24, Saint Rose went on a 9-2 run over the next 2:25 minutes of play to take their largest lead of the first half of 11 points, 37-26 with 6:06 remaining.
The Knights would create their own run to end the first half with a 14-8 run as Bentick, Wright, and freshman
Eric Tynes (Springfield, Mass) combined for 14 points over the final 5:04 minutes of the first half to only trail by five, 45-40 at halftime.
It was a sluggish start to begin the second half as Saint Rose went on 8-0 run to take a 13-point lead, 53-50 before a jumper by Chester stopped the scoreless drought for the home side to cut the score down to 53-42 with 16:03 left in the game.
The visitors would tally another 10-2 run as they took a 19-point lead of 63-44 before Queens mounted a comeback with 13:50 remaining on the game clock.
Herrington would lead an 8-2 run with four points as Queens started to cut their deficit down.
Trailing by 14, 68-54, the Englewood native would once lead the Knights as they rallied with a 21-8 run over the next 8:09 (9:34-1:25) minutes of play as they cut a 14-point deficit down to 1, 76-75 with 1:25 remaining in regulation to force a visitor timeout.
Queens would hold Saint Rose to 4-11 from the field with four turnovers in their final run of the game.
Having cut a 19-point deficit down to one and looking to steal the victory, Queens would rue missed opportunities as they went scoreless over the final 54 seconds of the game missing their final three shots of the game as they dropped their third game in a row to the final score of 79-75.

- Herrington recorded a season-high 14 points (5-14 FG), while Bentinck recorded his first career double-double with a season-high 14 points (6-11 FG), 10 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
- Seraphin tallied 13 points (6-10 FG) to go with five rebounds and Wright recorded 11 points (3-11 FG) with three rebounds.
- Chester recorded nine points (4-7 FG) with team-high five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
- Playing a season slow 19 minutes with early foul trouble, Carey recorded four points (1-3 FG), to go with six rebounds and a season-high five blocks.
- The Knights tallied nine steals and nine blocks as they held a slim 18-14 advantage on points off turnovers.
- Queens went 29-65 from the field shooting 44.6% on the evening, while Saint Rose shot 51.5% going 34-66 from the field.
