Men’s Basketball Hits the Road for the First Time this Season in Non-Conference Action

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's basketball team makes their first road of the season as they matched up against Central Athletic Collegiate Conference champions Felician University Golden Falcons Wednesday (Nov. 16) evening in Rutherford, N.J. in non-conference action.

Scouting the Knights
  • The Knights are 1-1 on the young season having defeated Adelphi in their season and fell to Pace in the ECC/NE10 Conference Challenge. 
  • Queens is averaging 72.5 points per game on 43.6% shooting, with 33.0 rebounds per game. 
  • Sophomore Sunnie Diamond (Hiram, GA) leads the offense averaging 16.5 PPG with a career-high 17 points. 
  • While senior William Ellis (Valley Stream, N.Y.) is averaging 14.5 PPG having recorded a season-high 16 points against Pace. 
  • On Monday (Nov. 14), The East Coast Conference office awarded Diamond a spot on the first Men's Basketball Weekly Report of the Year. Link
  • The Knights are looking for their first win in Rutherford since the 2016 season when they won 67-51. 
  • Queens opened last season with an 83-78 victory over Felician. 
Scouting the Golden Falcons
  • The Falcons are 1-1 on the young season having defeated Mercy College before falling to St. Thomas Aquinas in the STAC Tip-Off Challenge.
  • The Falcons went 19-10 last year as they won the CACC Men's Basketball Championship and earned a trip to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. 
  • Jaylen Colon leads the offense averaging 19.0 PPG having recorded back-to-back 19 points against Mercy and STAC. 
Next Tip-OFF
  • The Knights conclude the week in Flushing on Saturday (No. 19) afternoon as they welcome another CACC opponent the Tigers of Holy Family University. Tip-off is set for noon.
