Knights Host Seton Hill in Non-Conference Action Wednesday Evening

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Non-Conference resumes Wednesday (Oct. 5) evening as the Queens College men's soccer team welcomes the Griffins of Seton Hill University (PA.) to Flushing. 
 
Game Time: 7:00 P.M.
 
Series History
  • Record: 9-5-1
  • Last Matchup: September 28, 2019 (W 2-0)  Current Streak: W1
  • It will be the second meeting in program history with the Knights leading the overall series 1-0.
  • It will be the first home game against the Griffins. 
  • Queens won 2-0 in 2019 as junior Leo Pinto (Forest Hills, N.Y.) scored the game-winner in his freshman year.

Queens College
  • Queens is 8-4 overall on the season and will be looking to rebound off their 2-1 loss to Molloy Saturday evening.
  • Sophomore Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) leads the offense with a team-high 13 points, six goals, one assist, and four game-winning goals.
  • While Pinto has tallied eight points on the season with two goals and a season-high four assists.
  • In goal, senior goalie Dario Giovanni Cruz (Guadalajara, México) has made 36 saves for an 8-4 overall record with four shutouts and one combined shutout. 
  • On Monday (Oct. 3), the East Coast Conference awarded freshman Finlay Armond (Sleaford, England) Rookie of the Week honors with the English native scoring two goals including one game-winner against Georgian Court Wednesday (Sept. 27) evening. (Link) 
Seton Hill 
  • Seton Hill is 3-7-1 overall on the season and is coming off a 6-0 victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. 
  • Fletcher Amos leads the offense having tallied 10 points with five goals on the season. 
UP NEXT: Head coach Frank Vertullo and the Knights return to East Coast Conference play on Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon as they welcome the Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia to Flushing. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
