WEST HAVEN, CT – The 2022 Queens College women's soccer team road portion of their schedule came to a close Wednesday night as the Knights traveled to West Haven, Connecticut with a non-conference matchup against the University of New Haven Chargers at Kathy Zolad Stadium.
The Knights would fall short in their non-conference finale to the score of 5-0 to the Chargers.
Match Highlights
- Queens fell behind 2-0 in the opening 10 minutes of play before the home side tallied two goals by the 25th minute.
- Sophomore Nicole Martinez (Glendale, N.Y.) tallied the Knights' first shot on goal in the 38th minute.
- The second half saw the Knights be more aggressive as senior Marina Pappas (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Kristina Gambino's (Deer Park, N.Y.) tallied back-to-back shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net.
- The Chargers would tally their fifth goal of the game as they defeated the Knights Wednesday evening.
UP NEXT: The Knights conclude the 2022 season on Saturday (Oct. 29) evening as they welcome fellow CUNY member College of Staten Island Dolphins to Flushing. Kick-off is set for 5:30 P.M.
Before kick-off, the Knights will honor their graduating seniors in their annual Senior Day Ceremony.
