Women’s Soccer Concludes Non-Conference Action in West Haven

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's soccer team hits the road for the final time this season as they travel to West Haven, CT with a matchup against the University of New Haven Chargers Wednesday (Oct. 26) evening at Kathy Zolad Stadium. 
 
Game time: 6:00 p.m.
 
Series History
  • Record: 1-6-3
  • Last Matchup: October 13, 2018 (T 1-1) Current Streak: T1
  • It will be the 11th meeting between both sides with the Knights trailing 1-6-3 overall. 
  • The Knights are looking for their first win since the 2002 season when they won 3-2 in overtime.
  • Queens has earned two ties in West Haven but are winless in their six attempts on the road.

Queens College
  • The Knights are 2-9-2 overall this season. 
  • Sophomore Julia Ragone (Centereach, N.Y.), and Kristina Gambino (Deer Park, N.Y.) lead the offense combining for 14 points. Ragone has tallied three goals and one assist, while Gambino has notched two goals and three assists on the season.
  • On Tuesday (Oct. 11), the East Coast Conference office awarded Sarah Marino (Enfield, CT) a spot on the Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll Sheet. (Link)
  • The Knights have been picked to finish fifth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll.
New Haven
  • The Chargers are 4-10-3 overall and are riding a two-game losing skid.   
  • Madison Blonde leads the offense having tallied six goals and one assist on the season. 
  • The Spartans have been picked to finish seventh in the ECC Preseason Coaches poll.
UP NEXT: The Knights conclude the 2022 season on Saturday (Oct. 29) evening as they welcome fellow CUNY member College of Staten Island Dolphins to Flushing. Kick-off is set for 5:30 P.M.
 
Before kick-off, the Knights will honor their graduating seniors in their annual Senior Day Ceremony.
