Women’s Soccer Opens Two-Game Road Trip Saturday Afternoon

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's soccer team returns to East Coast Conference play with a trip to Sparkill, N.Y. as they matchup against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College at Spartan Field Saturday (Oct. 22) afternoon.
 
Game time: 2:30 P.M.
 
Series History
  • Record: 12-7-3
  • Last Matchup: September 29, 2021 (L 2-1) Current Streak: L1
  • It will be the 23rd meeting in program history against the Spartans with the Knights leading the overall series 12-7-3
  • The Knights are looking for their first win since the 2016 season when they won 1-0 in Flushing. 
  • The last road win came during the 2013 season when the Knights won 2-0 in Sparkill.

Queens College
  • The Knights are 2-9-1 overall, and 2-4 in ECC play on the season.
  • Sophomore Julia Ragone (Centereach, N.Y.), and Kristina Gambino (Deer Park, N.Y.) lead the offense combining for 14 points. Ragone has tallied three goals and one assist, while Gambino has notched two goals and three assists on the season.
  • On Tuesday (Oct. 11), the East Coast Conference office awarded Sarah Marino (Enfield, CT) a spot on the Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll Sheet. (Link)
  • The Knights have been picked to finish fifth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll. 
St. Thomas Aquinas
  • The Spartans are 3-10-2 overall, and 2-4 in ECC play.  
  • Sarai Rodriguez leads the offense having tallied four goals and two assists for 10 points this season. 
  • The Spartans have been picked to finish seventh in the ECC Preseason Coaches poll. 
UP NEXT: The Knights conclude non-conference play in West Haven, CT as they match up against the Chargers of the University of New Haven Wednesday (Oct. 26) evening. Kick-off is set for 6:00 P.M.
