Men’s Soccer Hits the Road Against STAC in ECC Play

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Hitting the road to conclude the road portion of their regular season schedule, the Queens College men's soccer team matches up against St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans Saturday (Oct. 22) afternoon in East Coast Conference play.

Series History
  • Record: 4-7-3
  • Last Matchup: September 29, 2021 (L 1-3) Current Streak: L3
  • It will be the 15th meeting between both sides with the Knights trailing 4-7-3
  • On the road, Queens is 3-4-1 and are looking for their first win since the 2017 season when the Knights earned a 2-0 shutout victory.

Queens College
  • Queens is 11-5 overall, and 4-2 in ECC play.
  • Sophomore Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) leads the offense with a team-high 18 points, eight goals, two assists, and five game-winning goals.
  • While Leo Pinto (Forest Hill, N.Y.) has tallied 12 points on the season with four goals and a season-high four assists.
  • In goal senior Dario Giovanni Cruz (Guadalajara, México) has made 51 saves for an 11-5 overall record with eight shutouts.
  • On Monday (Oct. 11) the East Coast Conference awarded Paquet Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. While Cruz and Pinto earned a spot on the weekly honor roll sheet. (Link)
  • The Knights have been slotted to finish sixth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll.
St. Thomas Aquinas College
  • The Spartans are 5-5-4 overall, and 1-2-3 in ECC play and are coming off a 3-1 victory over the District of Colombia  
  • Jorge Umana leads the offense having tallied 10 goals and six assists for a team-high 26 points
  • STAC was voted to finish tied in first place in the ECC Preseason Coaches poll
UP NEXT: The regular season concludes on Saturday (Oct. 29) evening as the Knights welcome the College of Staten Island Dolphins to Flushing. Kick-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
