Men’s Soccer Concludes Non-Conference Play Against Bloomfield on Senior Night

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Non-Conference play concludes on Saturday (Oct. 15) evening as the Queens College men's soccer team welcomes the Bears of Bloomfield College to Flushing. 
 
Before kickoff, head coach Frank Vertullo and the Knights will honor their graduating seniors in their annual senior day ceremony. 
 
Game Time: 7:30 P.M.
 
Series History
  • Record: 2-2
  • Last Matchup: September 6, 2017 (L 1-3) Current Streak: L1
  • It will be the fifth meeting in program history with the overall series tied 2-2.
  • It will be the first matchup since the 2017 season and the first home game since the 2009 season.
  • At home, the Knights are 2-0 having scored the Bears 5-3.

Queens College
  • Queens is 10-5 on the season and holds a 6-3 non-conference record heading into their non-conference regular-season finale. 
  • Sophomore Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) leads the offense with a team-high 15 points, seven goals, one assist, and five game-winning goals.
  • While Leo Pinto (Forest Hill, N.Y.) has tallied eight points on the season with two goals and a season-high four assists.
  • In goal senior Dario Giovanni Cruz (Guadalajara, México) has made 51 saves for a 10-5 overall record with seven shutouts.
  • On Tuesday (Oct. 11) the East Coast Conference awarded Cruz and junior Nicholas Tagios (East Williston, N.Y.)a spot on the weekly honor roll sheet. (Link)

  • The Bears are 1-8-4 on the season and are coming off a 1-1 tie against Caldwell University. 
  • Marvin Munoz leads the offense having tallied three points with a goal and an assist on the season. 
UP NEXT: East Coast Conference play returns as the Knights hit the road to Sparkill, N.Y. on Saturday (Oct. 22) afternoon as they match up against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas college at Spartan Field. Kickoff is set for noon.
