FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team concludes the non-conference portion of their schedule as they welcome the Yellow Jackets of American International College Wednesday evening.
The Knights will meet the Yellow Jackets for the eighth time in program history dating back to the 04-05 season. They have been held winless in all seven meetings and will be looking to end that streak on Wednesday.

The Knights held 12-6 after the first quarter and took an 18-9 just past the midpoint of the stanza but AIC went on an 11-5 run to close out the opening frame trailing the Knights by a 22-21 score. A 7-2 run from the hosts gave the Yellow Jackets their first lead of the contest at 28-24 midway through the third quarter; that advantage would remain through the rest of the contest. The Knights scored 17 points off of 17 Yellow Jackets turnovers.
Scouting Queens College
Queens is coming off a tough road loss at Bridgeport and will be looking to conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule on a high note.
On the season Queen is averaging 65.4 points on 39.8 percent shooting, 40.9 rebounds, and 14.8 assists per game.
The offense is led by Junior
Khadija Demry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) averaging 12.4 points per game on 38.4 percent shooting. Demry has tallied eight double-digit performances including a career-high 24 points over Post University. The Brooklyn native has been named to the East Coast Conference honor roll sheet twice.
While freshman
Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is averaging 11.9 points on the season and is a two-time ECC Rookie of the Week recipient. Reeves posted nine double-digit performances on the season including three double-doubles.
In the past three games, senior
Nora Gabel (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) is averaging 16.33 points per game and notched a season-high 21 points against Roberts Wesleyan. Gabel has knocked down 14 three-pointers and leads the team with 31 made three-pointers on the season.
Scouting American International College
AIC (6-8 overall) come to Flushing on a two-game skid. As a team the Yellow Jackets are averaging 57.7 points on 36.0 percent shooting with 30.7 rebounds and 9.4 assists per game.
The offense is led by Destine Perry who is averaging 12.8 points per game and has tallied nine double-digit scoring efforts on the season including a season-high 24 points against Le Moyne. While Nora Young is the second leading scorer averaging 9.8 points per game. Young tallied a season-high 20 points against Assumptions.
UP NEXT: Queens returns to conference play on Saturday (Jan. 29) as they visit Rockville Centre, N.Y. with a matchup against Molloy College. Tip-off is set for noon.
