Women’s Basketball vs. University of Bridgeport Game Day Preview

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team travels to Bridgeport, CT as they go up against the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights Sunday afternoon.  
 
Sunday's game will be the 45th matchup in the program history dating back to the 1993-94 season. The Purple Knights hold a slim 21-23 series lead, while the Knights are 10-13 inside Harvey Hubbell Gym. The Knights are 6-4 in their last 10 matches with the last road coming on January 13, 2018.

Queens snapped a three-game losing streak with a 15-point victory in Flushing as the Knights won 75-60. 
 
Scouting Queens College
 
Queens will be looking to end a three-game skid as they travel to Bridgeport. 
 
On the season Queen is averaging 65.3 points on 39.5 percent shooting, 41.5 rebounds, and 14.7 assists per game. 
 
The offense is led by freshman Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who is averaging 14.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in ECC play. Reeves is a two-time ECC Rookie of the Week recipient and has posted eight double-digit performances on the season including a career-high 33 points against STAC. She has posted three double-doubles performances in conference play against UDC, STAC, and Roberts Wesleyan. 
 
Junior Khadija Demry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) is the second leading scorer averaging 11.9 points per game. Demry has posted seven double-digit performances on the season with a career-high 24 points against Post University. The Brooklyn native has been named to the ECC honor roll sheet twice. 

Scouting University of Bridgeport
 
Bridgeport (3-12 overall, 0-8 ECC) enter Sunday game on a nine-game losing streak and are winless in conference play on the season.
 
The Purple Knights are averaging 66.7 points shooting 40.8 percent from the field with 39.7 rebounds and 13.5 assists per game in 15 games.
 
The offense is led by Samirah Henderson averaging 17.3 points per game and has tallied 11 double-digit performances on the season. Henderson tallied season-high 31 points against Post University. While Janiece Loney is the second leading scorer averaging 15.0 points per game and has tallied double-digit in 12 games with a season-high 25 points against Mercy College.
 
UP NEXT: Queens concludes non-conference play on Wednesday (Jan. 26) as they welcome American International College Yellowjackets. Tip-off set for 6:00 p.m.
