FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's basketball returns to action after a week break with a trip to Buffalo, New York. They will open the trip with a matchup against East Coast Conference newcomer D'Youville College Saints on Friday (Jan. 14) and conclude the road trip against Daemen College Wildcats on Sunday (Jan. 16).
Friday's game against the Saints will be the first game between both programs.
While the Knights will meet the Wildcats for the 17
th time in program history and are currently on a nine-game losing streak as Daemen hold a 14-2 series lead. . The last win against Daemen came on February 28, 2016, when Queens won 71-56 in Flushing. On the road, the Knights have been held winless in their previous eight trips.
Scouting Queens College
Queens enters the two-game road trip with a 4-4 overall record and 2-2 in ECC play. The Knights are riding a two-game winning streak with wins over Molloy College and Mercy College.
As a team, Queens is averaging 70.5 points on 43.4 percent shooting, 44.6 rebounds, and 12.9 assists per game.
The Knights have three players averaging 10.0 points or more per game led by Junior
William Ellis (Valley Stream, N.Y.) who leads the offense averaging 10.6 points per game. While the freshmen duo of
Shamar Chester (Queens, N.Y.) and
Jayden Seraphin (Lakeview, N.Y.) are averaging 10.5 and 10.3 points per game.
Ellis has tallied six double-digit scoring performances on the season including two 14 points performances with the latter coming against Molloy in the overtime win. Chester tallied his fifth double-digit performance of the season with a team-high 11 points in the win over Mercy College. Both Chester and Seraphin have earned ECC Rookie of the Week honors this season.
Sophomore
Dion Herrington (Englewood, N.J.) leads the Knights averaging 11.3 points per game in ECC play. The Englewood native posted a season-high 17 points in the win over Molloy College in overtime with six rebounds. He tallied eight points with three rebounds and three steals in the win against Mercy College.

Scouting D'Youville College
The Saints are 1-12 overall and 0-5 in conference play and are on a 10-game losing streak. The lone win came on November 18 when they defeated Bryant & Stratton 90-71. As a team, D'Youville is averaging 67.3 points on 37.8 percent shooting with 37.1 rebounds and 11.2 assists per game.
The offense is led by Mason Putnam averaging 11.7 points and Nelson St. Louis 9.0 points per game. Putnam has tallied seven double-digit performances on the season with a season-high 20 points against Staten Island. While Louis has tallied five double-digit performances including a career-high 28 points against Concord. Louis was named ECC Rookie of the Week on November 29.

Daemen College is 8-6 overall, 5-0 in conference play, and are riding a three-game winning streak. As a team, they are averaging 74.5 points on 45.0 percent shooting with 40.3 rebounds and 14.4 assists per game.
The offense is led by Andrew Sischo averaging 23.4 points per game on the season and 25.2 points per game in conference play. Sischo has been ECC player of the Week on five occasions this season. Sischo leads the NCAA Division II with 13 double-doubles this season.
