FLUSHING, N.Y.- East Coast Conference play continues for the Queens College women's volleyball team with a trip to Bridgeport, CT as the Knights go up against the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. The Knights are on a six-game losing against the Purple Knights and will look to use their first conference victory over D'Youville College to record an upset. The last time Queens defeated Bridgeport was back on October 27, 2016, as the Knights swept the Purple Knights in Flushing. The last time the Knights were able to capture a victory in Hubbell Gym came on October 9, 2007, as Queens took the match in four sets for a 3-1 win.

The Knights struggled all night as they were only able to muster 21 points.  Briana Green was the team leader with three kills while Alexis Deodat and Lauren Kehoe each added two kills. On the defensive end, Jessica Yin led Queens with seven digs and while  Danielle Naggar added six digs. Alisha Matthews dished out five assists to go with five digs.
 
Scouting Queens College Knights 
 
Freshman Christina Franco is leading the offense with 89 kills while having tallied eight service aces and 122 digs. On the season she has tallied three double-doubles with two of them coming in wins. As a team, the Knights are hitting .105 with 341 kills while averaging 8.7 kills per set. The Knights will be looking to pick up their second straight win of the season. They are coming off a 3-1 win over D'Youville led by Dee-Ana Mitchell season-high 15 kills with four service aces. While Leila Hadjeb tallied a career-day 22 digs and four service aces to help the Knights in their first ECC win of the season.
 
Scouting Bridgeport
 
The Purple Knights are 6-4 on the season and are coming off a 3-1 loss against the University of New Haven. On the season Bridgeport is averaging 13.0 kills per set totaling 506 kills. The Purple Knights have served up 82 service aces while committing 123 errors. On defense, the Purple Knights are averaging 14 digs per set with a combined total of 545 digs on the season. 
 
Next Match-up: The Knights return to action Tuesday (Oct.5) as the Mavericks of Mercy College come to Flushing. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
