Queens College Releases 2021 Volleyball Schedule

LUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College volleyball and third-year head coach Stefan Leger has announced the program's 2021 fall schedule on Thursday, Aug. 12. 
 
The Knights are slated to play 23 matches during the regular season, including 11 at Fitzgerald Gymnasium. 
 
The schedule features 11 non-conference matches which include two non-region teams and 12 East Coast Conference matches. The Knights will go up against six teams that appeared in the NCAA Regional Tournament during the 2019 season. 
 
"I'm very excited to get the team playing this great schedule we have in front of us." Leger said.  "We will face up against a lot of highly competitive teams and we are looking forward to giving #knightnation many things to cheer about this season.". 
 
Queens opens its fall 2021 campaign on the road for the third straight season with the SCSU Tri-Series featuring host Southern Connecticut State University Owls and Dominican College Chargers as the third team on Sept. 3. The Knights stay on the road with a match-up against Caldwell University Cougars on Sept. 7. 
 
The first home game of the season will be played on Sept. 9 as Bloomfield College Bears comes to Flushing. It will be a short rest for the Knights as they hit the road with their second tri-series of the season featuring host Georgian Court University Lions and West Chester University of Pennsylvania Golden Rams on Sept. 11. 
 
The College of Saint Rose Golden Knights comes to Flushing for the first time on Sept. 14 before the Knights take part in their last tri-series match of the season against host Shippensburg University Raiders and Bentley University Falcons on Sept. 18. Rounding off non-conference play in September, Adelphi University Panthers comes to town on Sept. 21. 
 
East Coast Conference play opens in Flushing for the second straight season as the Knights host Daemen College Wildcats (Sept. 25) and D'Youville College Saints (Sept. 26). 
 
The first month of the season concludes on the road for the Knights as they take on 2019 ECC Championship finalist and NCAA East Region finalist the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Sept. 29. 
 
October opens at home with Mercy College Mavericks coming to town on Oct. 2. The Knights will hit the road with a matchup against Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks on Oct. 10. 
 
Defending Conference and NCAA East Region champions Molloy College Lions come to Flushing on Oct. 13. It will be a nine-day rest for the Knights before they hit the road to western New York with a match-up against the Wildcats (Oct. 22.) and Saints (Oct. 23.). 
 
To close out October, the Knights will host the Purple Knights (Oct. 26.) before visiting the Mavericks on Oct. 28. 
 
The final stretch of regular season matches starts with a contest against the Redhawks on Nov. 7 and Pace University Setters on Nov. 9 in Flushing and wraps up with a match on the road against Molloy on Nov. 13.
