Women’s Basketball vs. Felician University Game Day Preview

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's basketball team opens a four-game homestand starting with Felician University Golden Falcons on Tuesday. It will be the first meeting between both programs since the 11-12 season. The Knights hold a 4-3 series lead going back to the 98-99 season. Queens' last win against Felician came on December 8, 2008, when they defeated the Golden Falcons 65-58 at the ECAC Holiday Classic hosted by Caldwell University. Tuesday matchup will be Golden Falcons first visit to Fitzgerald Gymnasium since the 08-09 season when the Knights took a 70-53 victory on December 16.

Caitlin Hopkins fell shy of a double-double as she registered nine points, a team-high 10 rebounds, and three blocks. While Cadie Chu scored a team-high 12 points in the loss.
 
Scouting Queens College
 
The Knights are in search of their first win of the season they fell to 0-3 on the season with a 67-65 loss in a close-contested game to Post University on Saturday (Nov. 20). On Monday (Nov. 22) junior Khadija Demry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned her second straight East Coast Conference honor roll honor following a career-high 24 points, four assists, and three rebounds effort against Post. 
 
In three games Demry is averaging 40 minutes per game, with 20 points, on 50 percent shooting, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. 
 
As a team the Knights are averaging 61.3 points on 43 percent shooting, 37.0 rebounds, and 13 assists per game. However turnovers and fouls have hurt the Knights young team as they are averaging 24.3 turnovers, while opponents are averaging 15.7 free throws per game compared to the Knights 11.3 per game. 
 
Scouting Felician University
 
The Falcons are 0-4 on the season and are coming off a 68-63 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday (Nov. 20). As a team the Golden Falcons are averaging 61.8 points on 33.7 percent shooting, 30.2 percent three-point shooting, and 40.0 rebounds per game. 
 
The offense is led by Briana Lee and Katelyn Andres who are averaging 14.5 and 12.8 points per game. In four starts, Lee has tallied three double-double performances including a season-high 22 points on 42.9 percent shooting against STAC. While Andres has scored in double-digits in four games including a season-high 15 points in the season opener against Roberts Wesleyan. 
 
UP NEXT: The Knights will welcome Franklin Pierce University Ravens to Flushing on Saturday (Nov. 27) in non-conference action. Tip-off set for 1:00 p.m.
