  • In the second set the Knights would jump out to a 5-3 lead before the Lions went on a 7-5 run to take a 10-7 lead.
  • Seniors Dee-Ana Mitchell (Middle Island, N.Y) and Genesis Soto (San Juan, Puerto Rico) would rally the offense and give the Knights a 15-13 advantage.
  • But the Lions would not go away and use a 7-1 run to take a 20-16 lead before taking the second set 25-21 and a commanding 2-0 lead.
  • Trailing 2-0, Queens came out flat in the third set as Molloy went ahead 8-2 before the Knights attempted a comeback.
  • Mitchell would bring the Knights within three (13-10), but the offense of the Lions would overpower the Knights and complete the series sweep 2-0 with a third set victory of 25-16.
