BUFFALO, N.Y.- The Queens College women's tennis team rolled to their second consecutive victory in East Coast Conference play with a 4-0 sweep of D'Youville College Saints Saturday evening at Village Glen Tennis Center.
With the win, the Knights improved to 3-1 overall, 2-1 in ECC while the Saints moved to 3-4 oveall, 0-2 in conference play on the season.
Queens started with a 1-0 advantage with D'Youville short one player which meant the Knights needed one doubles and two singles victories to clinch the match.
How It Happened
- Queens went up 2-0 as the #2 doubles pair of Maja Makal (Bialystok, Poland) / Gabriela Sciarrotta (Woodmere, N.Y.) shutout D'Youville pair of Alisson Meissner / Taylor-Anne Austin to the score of 6-0.
- In singles play Mariana Ling (Orlando, Flordia) picked up her first singles victory of the season at #3 as she dispatched Taylor Nash to the score of 6-0, 6-0.
- While Sciarrotta moved to 4-0 in singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Camilla Duteil to give the Knights a 4-0 victory at #2 singles court.
- All other matches remained unfinished.
Next Match-up: Queens continues conference play as they travel to Sparkill, N.Y. with a matchup against St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans. First serve slated for 3:00 p.m.
