FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Queens College volleyball team opens October at home as the Mavericks of Mercy College come to town. Dating back to 1994, both sides have met 56 times and are tied 28-28 in the overall series. The Knights are currently on a five-game losing streak against the Mavericks with the last win coming in 2017 on the road. Queens last win at home against Mercy came in 2016 when the Knights swept the Mavericks 3-0 on September 27.

The Knights 2019 regular season ended with a 3-0 defeat in Flushing with the set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-14. Briana Green led the way with nine kills as she hit a .500% for the match. Lauren Kehoe concluded her Knights career with 12 digs and eight kills.
Scouting Queens College Knights
The Knights are 2-10 overall, 1-2 in East Coast Conference play having picked up their first conference win over D'Youville College. Junior
Dee-Ana Mitchell is leading the offense with 2.52 kills per set, while freshman
Christina Franco has totaled 94 kills on the season to lead the team in team-highs. Franco has tallied three double-doubles on the season with a career-high 16 kills and 26 digs in the win over Caldwell University on Sept. 7. Sophomore
Leila Hadjeb has been one of the most improved players on the team this season as she tallied a team-high 144 digs and 19 service aces.
Scouting Mercy College
The Mavericks are 6-7 overall, 2-0 in ECC play with victories coming over Roberts Wesleyan College and Molloy College. Three players have tallied 100 kills or more on the season with Larissa Schneid leading the way with 155 kills. In 13 games played, Larissa has tallied 10 kills or more in 11 games. As a team Mercy is averaging 11.4 kills per set while serving 2.0 aces per set.
Next Match-up: The Knights travel to Rochester, N.Y. as they go up against Roberts Wesleyan College on Sunday (Oct. 10) at noon.
