Women’s Tennis vs. Dominican College Preview

FLUSHING, N.Y.- The regular season continues for the Queens College women's tennis team continues with a non-conference match-up against the Dominican College Chargers Sunday afternoon. This will be the first meeting between both programs in program history.

Scouting Queens College Knights 
 
The Knights are 0-1 on the season and are coming off a tough loss 4-3 loss to the University of the District of Columbia last Saturday (Sept. 25). Junior Maja Makal (Bialystok, Poland) picked a honor roll spot on Sept. 27 following a 2-0 run against UDC as she started the day picking up a 6-3 victory at first doubles with teammate senior Nathalie Ulander (Stockholm, Sweden) as the pair defeated Simone Parn/ Sofia Bellucco.  In singles play she would defeat Parn in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 at first singles to round out her morning.
 
While Gabriela Sciarotta (Woodmere, N.Y.)  would pick up a pick a 6-3, 6-4 over Bellucco in singles play. 
 
Scouting Dominican College
 
The Chargers are 0-3 on the season and are coming off a 7-0 loss to Goldey-Beacom College. On the season the #1 doubles pair of Isha Mbaye/Nora Frederick and #3 doubles pair of Rupkatha Mukherjee/Ava Obrien have a victory in double plays. While in singles play, Mbaye has a victory at singles #3, while O'Brien has a win at #6 court. 
 
Next Match-up: On Friday (Oct. 8) evening the Knights return to East Coast Conference play with a matchup against Daemen College Wildcats. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
