FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Queens College volleyball team opens a two-game homestand with the first phase of East Coast Conference play coming to an end on Wednesday evening as Molloy College Lions come to Flushing.
Dating back to the 1994 season, the two sides have met 46 times and the Knights hold a 28-18 advantage but have fallen in eight straight games to the Lions. Queens last victory came on Nov. 10, 2015, which saw the Knights sweep the Lions 3-0 in Flushing.

The Knights never got home in the first and second set as they were quickly trailing 2-0. They would attempt a rally in the third set but would ultimately fall short with the final set score of 25-20. Lauren Kehoe and Briana Green led the Knights with six kills, while Alisha Matthews dished out 15 assists.
Danielle Naggar tallied 10 digs, while Kehoe notched six digs on the day.
Scouting Queens College Knights
The Knights are 3-11 overall, 2-3 in East Coast Conference, and are coming off a 3-0 win over Roberts Wesleyan. The win over Roberts Wesleyan gives the Knights their third win of the season and second conference win, the most wins since the 2017 season. Freshman
Christina Franco has reached the century mark in kills with 109 in 14 matches played averaging 2.27 kills per set. Franco has tallied three double-doubles on the season and was named on the ECC Honor Roll spot back on Sept. 7. Junior
Dee-Ana Mitchell is averaging 2.46 kills per set, with 86 kills. On defense, sophomore
Alexis Deodat has notched 31 blocks with 16 solo blocks while teammate
Leila Hadjeb is leading the Knights with 170 digs and 22 service aces.
Scouting Molloy College Lions
The Lions are 8-9 overall, 3-2 in conference play, and are on a two-game winning streak. As a team, the Lions are averaging 11.7 kills per set with Graciela Cruz leading the way with 169 kills with a team-high 3.13 kills per set. Kathleen Doherty is tallying 2.32 kills per set for a season total of 139. Kassie Akouri Tejedor is tied with Emily Meyer with 20 service aces.
Next Match-up: The Knights welcome the College of Saint Rose on Tuesday (Oct. 19) for non-conference action. First serve is slated for 7:00 p.m.
