FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Mar. 6, 2020) - The Queens College softball team continued its trek in Florida on Friday (Mar. 6) with a doubleheader versus Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale but the Knights were defeated by the Sharks by final scores of 8-0 and 13-2.
Queens was one-hit in the first game of the day with 
Danielle D'Angelo collecting a two-out single in the fourth inning for the Knights' lone base-runner. Starting pitcher 
Emma Wimmer recorded a strikeout but the host Sharks drove in five runs in the third and two in the fourth on their way to the mercy rule victory.
In game two, Nova Southeastern put up a four-run first inning off of QC starter 
Allie Stanya and the Knights did not pick up a run until the third inning as D'Angelo stole second and a throwing error brought home 
Gabriella Vicidomini to cut the deficit to three runs. NSU scored nine runs in the bottom of the third inning and Queens could only get an RBI single in the top of the fifth inning from 
Marisa Sagona to score 
Jenny Murphy with the last run of the evening.
Queens concludes its Florida swing in Fort Lauderdale by facing West Liberty University at 11 a.m. on Saturday (Mar. 7).
