NEW YORK, N.Y. (Feb. 12, 2020) - Add another award to the myriad of accolades that have been bestowed upon Queens College women's basketball rookie forward Raiana Brown. For the first time all season, the five-time East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week was named a Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II-III Honorable Mention recipient with the honor being reported on Tuesday (Feb. 11).

Brown has won ECC Rookie of the Week in the last two weeks for the conference and also has both an overall Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week tally so far. The latest honor for the first-year forward comes after she averaged 18.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game over a two-game week for the Knights. That week included a 23-point, 14-rebound effort in QC's 82-53 win over Roberts Wesleyan on Friday (Feb. 7).

Brown has acquitted herself well to the college game in her debut season; the North Babylon native is currently top-five in seven different categories and went into Wednesday's (Feb. 12) game at Molloy with seven double-doubles on the season which is second only to Emily Miller of Roberts Wesleyan.
