Kreps Makes Seven Saves as Women's Soccer Opens ECC Play at Mercy Saturday

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2019) - The Queens College women's soccer team opened up East Coast Conference play on Saturday (Sept. 21) by being a game adversary to Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. However, the Mavericks would score a goal with about twenty minutes to play in the contest to provide the difference as the Knights fell by a 1-0 score to the hosts at Mercy Field.

Queens is now 3-3 overall and 0-1 in conference competition while Mercy improves to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in ECC play.

How It Happened
  • Queens played mostly a defensive mindset as Mercy outshot the Knights by a 21-4 margin and had much of the possession in the contest.
  • The Mavericks broke through in the 69th minute as Trista Seara crossed the ball into the Knights' defensive box where Mackenzie Warner volleyed home the assist to give the home side a 1-0 lead.
Knights That Shined
  • Shenae Kreps had another strong game in net for Queens as the sophomore made seven saves on the day.
  • All four of the Knights' shots were on target in the contest; Victoria Ramirez took two attempts while Sarah Marino and Agnes Stanton each had one shot on goal.
Next Up on the Docket

Queens will venture out of conference for the next three games, beginning with a 4 p.m. matinee on Wednesday (Sept. 25) at Holy Family University in Philadelphia.
