BOCA RATON, Fla. (Mar. 7, 2019) - The Queens College baseball team ran into a regional buzzsaw on Thursday (Mar. 7) as the Knights were shut out in an 8-0 loss to nineteenth-ranked Wilmington (Del.) in a game played in Boca Raton, Fla. at Lynn University.
Queens (3-3-1) only managed five hits on offense against Wildcats starter Brad Scull, who struck out 11 batters in his eight innings of work. Wilmington (6-4) put up a run in the third and the fourth against Mike Lamneck, though only one run was earned against the QC ace.
Wilmington tagged the Knights' bullpen for six runs in the sixth inning to provide the final margin.
Eric Roubal led Queens with two hits while
Louis Antos, Matt Gutleber and
Ron Linsalato each picked up a base hit in the loss.
Queens will play a doubleheader on Friday (Mar. 8) with the Knights facing Concordia (N.Y.) at 11 a.m. before facing Stonehill at 2:30 p.m.
