RINDGE, N.H. (Mar. 31, 2019) -
Richard Sec's three-set win over Preston Gordon at the third-flight of singles proved to be the decisive point as the Queens College men's tennis team avenged a tough loss on Friday to knock off Franklin Pierce by a 4-3 score Saturday (Mar. 30) in Rindge, N.H.
Sec posted a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 to complete the comeback for Queens, which had lost the doubles point and two of the singles matches as well.
Mariano Biblioni and
Hugo Evangelista de Andrade won straight-set singles matches at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively, while
Kareem Rashad needed three sets (3-6, 6-1, 6-4) to dispatch of James Bisazza at the top-flight of singles play.
The Knights were shut out in doubles matches by the Ravens with
Camilo Arias and Stan Bedrune falling in a 7-6 (7-4) match at the third-tandem to Bisazza and Andrew Schadt.
Queens will conclude its New England swing on Sunday (Mar. 31) with an 11:30 a.m. match-up against Merrimack in Haverhill, Mass.
