Box Score QUEENS, N.Y. - The Queens College women's basketball team picked up an impressive 75-47 win over UDC, who entered the game at 10-1 in league play, Thursday evening in East Coast Conference action Thursday evening at Fitzgerald Gymnasium. The Knights used standout efforts on both sides of the floor to open up a 43-18 halftime lead over the Firebirds, and never looked back.
Sophomore Merrick Rowland had her breakout game for QC, scoring a game-high 18 points, all in the first half. Rowland knocked down six three-pointers in the contest, more than doubling her season total from beyond the arc in the game.
Senior Elisabeth Gully posted 15 points and seven rebounds, while red-shirt senior MacKenzie Rowland registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Kristen Korzevinski finished with 11 points while junior Madison Rowland added 10 rebounds and three steals.
The Knights connected on 52.7% of their attempts from the field, and shot 47.1% from behind the arc. Queens also held a significant 47-29 advantage in rebounds. The QC defense held UDC to a 28.6% effort from the field. Taj Baldwin-Kollore led the Firebirds with 12 points.
