Box Score FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College men's basketball team picked up its third straight victory with a 76-65 victory over LIU Post Saturday afternoon at Fitzgerald Gymnasium. The Knights now sit at 8-12 overall, and 6-9 in league action.
Junior Simon Green led four players in double figures with a career high 20 points. Green notched 18 points in the second half, and knocked down a game high four three-pointers. Senior forward Mohamed Dansoko and Paul Little each scored 13 points, while junior Diego Maldonado had 10 points. Junior Tyree White scored seven points, and notched a double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Queens shot 46.7% (28-60) from the field, while holding LIU Post to 33.3% shooting, and a 15.8% clip from behind the arc. The Knights had 20 assists on 28 field goals, and outscored the Pioneers 36-17 on points by reserves.
LIU Post opened the scoring 25 seconds into the game, before QC knotted the game with 18:34 remaining in the opening frame. Trailing 6-5 with 15:36 left in the first period, Queens went on a 17-3 run, taking a 22-9 lead on a layup with 8:20 left in the stanza.
LIU Post scored eight straight points in the second half, to even the score at 42 with 13:54 remaining. The Knights countered with an 11-3 run, taking a 53-45 lead with 10:03 left.
Dillon Burns led the Pioneers with 13 points. QC is back in action Tuesday evening at Molloy (7:30 pm).
