Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Junior Tyree White posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Queens College men's basketball team's 77-66 setback at Roberts Wesleyan Friday evening at Voller Athletic Center.
White connected on 8-of-15 attempts from the field, and additionally finished with five assists and two blocks. Junior Travis Whitfield posted 16 points in the contest, shooting 7-for-10 from the field.
The Knights shot 44.3% overall from the field in the contest, and connected for seven three-pointers. The Redhawks shot 49.1% overall, and hit on 10 trifectas. The home team also turned 17 QC turnovers into 18 points.
The two squads traded baskets to open the contest, as a jumper by junior Kyheim Chaplin pushed the Knights ahead 10-9 with 16:46 remaining. Roberts Wesleyan countered with a 19-5 charge, jumping ahead 28-15 with 9:32 remaining.
Queens cut the lead to one, 31-30, with 3:31 left in the period on a three by Whitfield before the Redhawks answered with a 13-2 run to end the half, and take a 44-32 lead into the break.
The home team scored six of the first eight points of the second half to extend its lead to 16, 50-34. Nine straight points by the Knights cut the deficit to seven, capped by a three by junior Paul Little with 13:01 remaining.
The Knights got within four, 57-53, with 8:11 remaining in the contest. The Redhawks distanced itself with a 10-4 run to take a 67-57 advantage with 3:48 left.
Roberts Wesleyan had four players in double figures, led by Malik Dare's 17 points. The Knights conclude their weekend road trip Sunday at Daemen.
