Box Score ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Senior Kristen Korzevinski led three players in double figures with 20 points in the Queens College women's basketball team's 85-60 setback at Dominican College Saturday afternoon in non-conference play.
Korzeviniski also added seven rebounds for the Knights in the contest, while senior Elisabeth Gully posted 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Melissa Fumano scored 14 points and added four rebounds and three steals in the outing.
QC was held to 32.2% shooting from the field, and connected on just one three pointer in the contest. The Knights got to the line 35 times, but converted just 21 attempts. Dominican shot 54.1% from the field in the contest, and connected on 10 attempts from behind the arc. The Chargers bench also outscored the QC reserves 20-0.
The Chargers scored the game's first 11 points, and held Queens to just seven points in the frame. Dominican held a 28-7 lead after the opening quarter. The home team outscored the Knights 24-20 in the second frame to extend its cushion to 25, 52-27, at half.
Queens scored 12 points in the third quarter, as Dominican opened up a 70-39 advantage after three frames. The Knights had their best quarter of the game with 21 points in the fourth, but were unable to cut into the Chargers' large lead.
Deja Gabbidon led Dominican with 22 points, while Shannon McGill added 20. The Knights are back in action Wednesday evening at NYIT.
