Chaplin Nets Season High 21 Points In Loss At Dowling

OAKDALE, N.Y. - The Queens College men's basketball team was unable to keep pace with a thriving Dowling College offense Thursday evening, falling to the Golden Lions by a score of 105-60.

Dowling shot 59.7% from the field in the contest, 40.0% from behind the arc, and converted on 23 attempts from the line.  Queens shot 33.3% from the field, and just 19.0% from three-point land.  The Knights were also done in by a season high 26 turnovers, which the home team converted into 33 points.

Queens got 39 points from its reserves, led by junior Kyheim Chaplin's season high 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field.  Junior Tyree White registered 10 points, to go along with five assists.

The Knights never held a lead in the contest, as Dowling scored the game's first seven points.  The Golden Lions took their first double digit lead with just under 12 minutes left in the first, and led by as many as 32 during the opening stanza.

In the second period, QC got within 29 early before Dowling quickly pushed the advantage to 35 with 17:46 left.

Dowling had five players in double figures, led by Chris Millender's 21 points.  The Knights are back in action Saturday afternoon at home against Bridgeport (3:30 pm).
