Box Score Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - The Queens College women's basketball team lost to Mercy College, 63-49, in an East Coast Conference game played in Dobbs Ferry on Saturday. Imani Davidson and MacKenzie Rowland posted double-doubles in the setback.
Queens College trailed 5-3 in the first five minutes of action. They tied the score at 5-5 on an Amber Harrison jumper. A pair of Kristen Korzevinski free throws and a Davidson basket made it 9-5.
The Mavericks came back in the half and took the lead for good. They had 33-22 lead at the intermission.
A Joy McFarland jumper at the 16:44 mark of the second half got Queens as close as six, but they got no closer. Mercy went on for a 63-49 win.
MacKenzie Rowland had ten points, a game-high 14 rebounds and three blocks. Davidson had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Joya McFarland grabbed a game-best four steals.
With the loss, the Knights are now 16-5 overall and 11-3 in the ECC. Madison Rowland missed the game with a foot injury. The team returns to action on Wednesday, February 11, when they face UDC in a battle of the top two teams in the conference.
