Knights Head To Rose Hill For Matchup With Rams

The Queens College men's basketball team (1-1) continues early season non-conference action Tuesday evening on the road against Fordham (0-1).  The Knights and Rams square off for the first time in history Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
• Under the direction of first year head coach Jeff Nuebauer, the Rams are coming off a 77-72 road loss to UT Arlington in their season opener.
• Senior guard Mandell Thomas led four players in double digits with 21 points, and connected on five three pointers in the contest.
• Junior guard Jon Severe scored 16 points with four trifectas, while sophomore forward Chris Sengfelder grabbed a team best nine rebounds and freshman guard Joseph Chartouny had five assists.
• Tonight marks the first of nine consecutive home games for the Rams.

LAST TIME OUT
• Junior guard Tyree White registered a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the Knights' 79-74 setback to Adelphi in game two of the weekend for QC at the ECC/NE-10 Challenge.
• White connected on 9-of-12 attempts from the field while corralling 10 of his 13 boards on the offensive end.
• Junior Diego Maldonado picked up his second straight double digit effort with 12 points.

WHITE RECOGNIZED BY ECC
• Following a standout performance at the ECC/NE-10 Challenge, junior Tyree White was named to the ECC Week One Honor Roll.
• White averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 75.0% from the field over the two games for the Knights.
• White opened the season with a 21 point effort in the team's overtime win over Pace. White connected on nine field goals, including three from behind the arc, while grabbing five rebounds andthree steals.
• The following day, White scored 19 points, on 9-for-12 shooting, pulled down 13 boards, including 10 on the offensive end, against Adelphi while dishing out three assists.

GETTING IT DONE FROM BEHIND THE ARC
• The Knights connected on 10 or more three pointers in a contest 12 times a season ago, including a season high 15 on four separate occasions.
• The trend continued in the team's season opening victory over Pace when QC connected on 12 three pointers, and shot 40.0% from behind the line in the game.

PRESEASON NUMBER SEVEN
• The Knights were chosen seventh by a poll of the league's head coaches in the 2015 ECC Preseason Poll.
• Defending champ Bridgeport, who won its third consecutive championship a season ago, was named the preseason favorite.
